NUSRI-CQ Celebrates Three Chief Principal Investigators Named 2025 Highly Cited Researchers

Clarivate has announced the Highly Cited Researchers 2025 List in November 2025, and we are proud to share that three Chief Principal Investigators from the NUSRI-CQ, Professor John Wang, Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov and Professor Qiu ChengWei have been honored on this prestigious global list.
Professor John Wang has been selected for the sixth consecutive year, a testament to the sustained global impact and influence of his research. Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov continues to shape his field with pioneering research, and this latest accolade reaffirms his standing at the forefront of global science. Professor Qiu ChengWei is recognized once again by the international academic community for his exceptional contributions to interdisciplinary research.
The Highly Cited Researchers list, curated annually by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) at Clarivate, identifies exceptional researchers who have demonstrated significant and broad influence through the publication of multiple highly cited papers. These papers rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year in the Web of Science over the past decade.
This year, Clarivate presented 7,131 Highly Cited Researcher awards to 6,868 individuals from more than 1,300 institutions in 61 countries and regions, with 3,569 researchers recognised for cross-field impact and 258 researchers named in two or more fields.
The inclusion of our three Chief Principal Investigators not only affirms their exceptional individual research capabilities but also underscores NUSRI-CQ's strong expertise and talent in pioneering fields such as materials science, physics, and engineering.
