The "2023 Spintronics Workshop" was successfully held in Chongqing Research Institute of the National University of Singapore (NUSRI-CQ) on June 10-11. The workshop was jointly organized by NUSRI-CQ and the Center for Quantum Materials and Devices of Chongqing University. Professor Wu Yihong, Director of the Center for Intelligent Sensing and Artificial Intelligence of NUSRI-CQ, Professor Sun Yang, Executive Director of the Center for Quantum Materials and Devices of Chongqing University, and Professor Yan Peng of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China served as the Presidents of the workshop. Twenty-four famous experts and scholars in the fields of spintronics from National University of Singapore (NUS) , Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Chongqing University and Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave keynote speeches on the latest technological achievements and the future of spintronics. More than 80 scholars and professionals in the field of spintronics are attracted to the workshop, and 8 excellent wall newspapers were rated.

Professor Xu Guoqin, Director of NUSRI-CQ, delivered an opening speech. He said that since its establishment three years ago, NUSRI-CQ has always carried out applied research, technology transformation and personnel training in line with the needs of China-Singapore connectivity cooperation and local industrial development. He hoped that this workshop would provide an opportunity for experts, scholars and industrialists in the field of spintronics to have close contact and discussion, sharing their research experience, promoting mutual cooperation and thereby driving the further development of spintronics.

【Welcome speech by Professor Sun Yang】

Professor Sun Yang, President of the workshop, delivered a welcome speech. He said that spintronics, as a new interdisciplinary subject in the fields of magnetism and electronics, has attracted extensive attention because of its unique basic scientific problems and important application prospects. By studying and utilizing the spin freedom of electrons, the limitations of traditional electronics can be broken through to realize electronic devices and systems with higher speed, lower power consumption and more powerful functions.
