In this translational R&D programme, a team of multidisciplinary experts in advanced sensing, AI, and data analytics will work together to develop practical smart city solutions based on intelligent sensing with embedded AI and data analytics for fast industry adoption in China (particular in the Chongqing region). Of our particular interest is the use of multi-sensor fusion and embedded AI to develop a smart platform for traffic and transportation monitoring and control. The technologies developed will also impact other industries such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare and agriculture. The overall objective is to create innovative solutions to tackle the challenges facing the increasingly urbanized society based on next generations of ICT, artificial intelligence and big data technologies.

This program is a collaborative R&D and education initiative in Intelligent Sensing and Artificial Intelligence (ISAI) led by National University of Singapore (Chongqing) Research Institute (NUSRI-CQ). The program will bring together experts from interdisciplinary areas of sensing, AI, and data analytics from Faculty of Engineering and School of Computing at the National University of Singapore (NUS), research staff and students at NUSRI-CQ and collaborators in Chongqing and elsewhere in China and overseas.
